Antique Rustic Chair Repair
This old rustic chair came to me in pieces. I could barely carry it, it was so lose and falling apart. Now it is back to a fun character piece that can be used in our customers home. I don't know exactly where and when it was built but it is a pretty cool chair with very interesting wood. In order to stay in budget, I used local woods to replace broken pieces and re used the leather that came on it (which was not original). This chair was very close to getting thrown away, so it is nice to give it another chance at life, and have it enjoyed once again.

Custom Cat Feeder
In the workshop- I just finished up this custom cat feeder for some clients. It has Maple legs and angle braces (bark on) and a Maple top. Dimensions are 13 3/4"L by 5 1/2" D by 5" H with two 3 1/2" stainless bowls. There is dark stain on the legs and multiple coats of Vermont Natural Coatings on the top. To mix up the look a bit I stained the plugs dark on the top.

Birch Sided Structure
Great Camps are known for their size, extensive grounds, and outbuildings and this lake side cottage is no exception. Here is a building located near the lake that was constructed for residents and visitors to use for changing before and after swimming. The building originally had 6 different changing rooms, each with it's own door. The current owners combine four of the rooms to make one larger storage area. The slabs of White Birch are used both vertically and horizontally and probably were left over from a nearby dowel factory (no longer in business). It has a covered porch all the way around and uses local logs for support posts. This building was probably constructed in the 1930's or 40's.

Rustic Ireland
In 2008, I was fortunate enough to visit Ireland, traveling around the country in a van with my wife's family. Her family has many ties to the country. We toured incredible castles and estate properties, with their beautiful gardens and enormous grounds. On one of our stops we were walking the property, which had wonderful trails and old buildings, and came across this gazebo structure. I had kind of forgotten about it until I came across these pictures on the computer. Doesn't this look like it could be at one of the great camps of the Adirondacks? I don't know it's history or who built it, but notice the stone floor, natural stick furniture, and stick inlay wall. It was just a great work of art to come across in the country side of Ireland. I will have to look back at my journal from the trip to help me recall where it was and the name of the estate. If I come up with that information then I will add it to the post, just in case you are headed to Ireland and looking for a nice spot to sit and rest.
