The Great Camp Sagamore in New York's Adirondacks
The Great Adirondack Camp Sagamore is a National Historic Landmark that is open to the public. This is one of just a few authentic great camps that you can visit, and even stay overnight at. The buildings and land are protected, offering visitors a view into a different time. Sagamore was built in the late 1800's and owned by the Vanderbilt Family from 1901-1954. The estate consists of 27 historic buildings that visitors can enjoy. Located in the Adirondacks of New York on Raquette Lake, this incredible estate offers tours, overnight accommodations, retreats and educational courses.
