In The Wilderness Creations Workshop.

I just finished up a matching set of tables for a customer in Maine. The tops are thick (2.5") Pine slabs and the base is made from locally cut Spruce trees. The top is lag bolted into the legs and the entire base is connected with mortise and tenon joinery. Some saw blade marks remain on the sides of the slab and the base is skip peeled, using a draw knife, for added character. The rustic coffee table and side table tops were made from one large slab of White Pine. The base is finished with 3 coats of Vermont Natural Coatings and the top has 11 coats of VNC Heirloom Wipe On Satin Finish. This will give great protection against marking and staining.

I am now finishing up a slab headboard and matching bench. I am in the finishing stage of these projects and will post photos when they are completed.
